The Town of New Llano is always accepting applications for both paid and volunteer reserve firefighters. If you are over 18 years of age, can pass a background investigation we urge you to apply.
Experience as a firefighter is preferred but not a requirement. The department is teamed up with Vernon Parish Fire Dist. #1 as well as L.S.U.F.E.T.I. and offer a very intense training program for new and veteran firefighters alike. We believe that good training and certification is the corner stone of the fire service and strive to make everyday a training day!
Interested persons may apply in person Monday - Friday 8 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. at the New Llano City Hall. Located at 109 Stanton Street, New Llano Louisiana.
The Town of New Llano Fire Department covers 6 square miles within the Corporate Limits of the Town and currently has a PIAL/ISO Rating of a Class 5. The Town is serviced by two fire stations located at the North end and South end of the City. Station #1 is located across from the City Park at 213 Stanton Street, with Station #2 located at 280 Ida Stevens Road. The Fire Department Headquarters Office is located at 211 Stanton Street next door to the Colony Museum.
The Town has three front line fire engines and one 110ft ladder truck that are staffed 24/7. The fleet is also complemented by one reserve fire engine staffed or used as needed. The Town also runs one medical unit and the animal control unit. The Town has 15 Full-time Firefighters, 2 Reserve Firefighters, one Assistant Chief of Operations and the Fire Chief.
Both fire stations are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your emergency needs. The Headquarters Office is open from 8 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday to Friday, Closed on holidays to handle any Fire Prevention, Code Enforcement or Animal Control needs. However, the Animal Control Division will respond 24 hours a day for dangerous animal calls.
